Obsession For Lemon Cake


I am not a fan of lemon cake...but as I need to develop different flavor for my cuppies, I end up obsessing about lemon cake...

See the crack on top of the cake?? This is because I've let the pan 'hanging' (coz it does not sit properly on the oven tray) and I finally realize the bottom part of the cake is not cooked...After doing some alteration, the cake finally cooked throughout and resulting in the big crack on top...Doesn't matter, this is just experimental...


I purposely cut the sugar in the cake so I could ice it....using knife, I halves the cake horizontally...


The icing was apricot flavored....it is too sweet that a thin layer of icing compliments the cake perfectly. If u notice the dripping icing, it is because the cake is still warm actually...I want it to have that yummy dripping icing effect...

The perks of being a baker is that u can indulge yourself with sweet treats without feeling guilty.... :)
Although it is not elegant as it should be, the taste is yummy....u can sniff the citrus scent of lemon and the sweet fruity taste of apricot icing balance out the not-too-sweet cake to a perfect match. The texture is very moist...like a cheese cake, and tasted even better after chill

I will re-bake the same cake..just to see if I can get the same taste and improve the texture and form...wish me luck!

  1. omg! this is too much... just too much! first i saw the cake and i thot to myself, 'damn! how i love lemon cake.. i can imagine the lemon aroma... then i have to see it topped with the icing... and now i'm drooling... oh su, u re so cruel... please pass them cake over here... kempunan eh... dapat nanggar ajak
